The SAAS DUI/DWI Visual Simulator is the world's first and only patented instrument system that induces a safe alcohol-drug intoxication experience. The original or standard SAAS DUI/DWI Eyewear uses central dials and consists of two identical optical Fresnel power rims mounted on colored or anodized rims. A central variable dial found on the bridge area meshes its gears into the teeth on both sides of the power rims to rotate 360° under synchronized conditions. It is not the spin that is important. It is the final degree position on each eve. when stopped. that seats the intoxication experience. This is determined by the marking of a red dot on each power rim which spins 360⁰".

Beneath the larger binocular central synchronizing dial, on the bridge. is a smaller spring loaded push button. When it is pushed in, it disengages the main central gears that normally. in unison, turn both power rims clockwise or counter-clockwise. When pushed in and held. each power rim can be individually calibrated or rotated anywhere within the 360° turning radius. Releasing the push button reunifies the two lenses. allowing them to be synchronized and jointly rotated in either a yoked or non-yoked manner. The final total of possible intoxication experiences from rotating just one pair of SAAS Dl I/DW 1 Power Rims is 129,6110 permutations (360-R x 360-I.). In contrast. the new GDG (also made by VIS). and all other competitive copies now on the market. use Fresnel Optics in only a single, fixed, non-rotatable position. Therefore, one cannot have more than one intoxication permutation experience, using a non-rotatable, cheaper fixed apex fresnel goggle.
